Moose Jaw Police responded to 40 calls for service.

8:25 am – MVC – A single vehicle collision occurred and resulted in no injuries. The damage to the car is estimated at $3,000, and the driver was charged with driving too fast for road conditions.

8:30 am – Mischief – An unwanted guest has been charged with mischief and possession of a prohibited weapon. The subject was released on an order with several conditions for a later court date.

9:46 am – Theft of Auto – Sometime overnight a vehicle was stolen out of a backyard. Taken was a blue 2006 Ford F250 bearing Sask plate CK01. A stolen auto form was signed and the vehicle has been added to the Canada-wide system.

10:07 am – Hit and Run – There was a report of a hit and run that occurred in December. SGI forms were filled out and submitted.

10:13 am – Disturbance – There was a report of a male in a parking lot yelling and causing a disturbance. The subject advised that he was just venting. He was advised to keep it down and was sent on his way.

11:56 am – Theft – A subject pawned property belonging to the complainant. The subject is to be charged with theft and fraud.

12:04 pm – Well Being Check – Police checked on the well being of a subject, who was found to be in fine health. The family member was advised.

12:54 pm – Theft from Vehicle – There was a theft of lottery tickets and parking meter change from an unlocked vehicle. This was reported for information purposes.

1:25 pm – Theft – A complainant reported a theft of their wallet with their MasterCard now being used at different businesses. Police continue to investigate.

1:54 pm – Assist to Locate – This is still under investigation.

3:18 pm – Assault – There was a verbal dispute between two family members that turned physical. Police spoke to both parties involved, and neither of them wanted any further police action but wanted the incident documented.

3:41 pm – Fraud – A complainant had their Apple Account hacked and was directed to purchase $1,915 in iTunes cards.

3:53 pm – Well Being Check – There was a report of a family member not answering their phone or the door. Police attended to the residence and found the subject in fine health. The complainant was advised.

4:21 pm – Fire Call – Police assisted the fire department at a fire call. The fire was caused by an instant pot melting on the stove, and the damage was estimated at $100.

4:30 pm – Trespass – There was a report of a male trespassing on property he was previously banned from. This is still under investigation to view video footage.

5:33 pm – Assist other Agency – Staff were having trouble with clients acting up. Police spoke to a subject who was just having a bad day, and the dispute was mediated.

6:13 pm – MVC – A two vehicle collision occurred with no injuries. The damage was estimated at $8,000, one vehicle was towed, and this is still under investigation for possible charges.

6:29 pm – Shoplifting – There was a report of a male shoplifter who had already left the premises. This is still under investigation to view video footage.

6:52 pm – Suspicious Person – There was a report of a suspicious person walking in the area. Police spoke to the subject who advised they were just walking home.

7:00 pm – Breach Undertaking – A subject returned to a residence they were on conditions to not be at. The subject was held in cells to be released in the morning for a later court date.

8:04 pm – Shoplifting – There was a report of a shoplifter who left the business with the complainant following and providing updates to police. The subject was located by police and charged with theft, disguise with intent, breaching probation and breaching undertaking. The subject was held in cells to be released in front of a Justice of the Peace for court at a later date.

11:15 pm – Noise Bylaw – A complainant was reporting a noisy stereo in the apartment building. Police attended and spoke to the tenant, who was warned under the noise bylaw.

1:39 am – Disturbance – There was a report of a possible assault. Police attended and located the individuals involved. No assault had taken place. Two buddies were just assisting an intoxicated friend walking home. The subjects were taken home by police.

1:56 am – Unwanted Guest – There was a report of an intoxicated person banging on the complainant’s door. Police attended and located the subject, who was going to stay at a friend’s place but went to the wrong door. Police assisted the subject in finding their friend’s apartment.

2:50 am – Well Being Check – There was a report that a friend wasn’t answering their phone or door. The subject was located in fine health visiting another friend, and the complainant was advised.

3:28 am – Well Being Check – A complaint was concerned for the well being of a friend. The subject was located at home and was fine. The person was spoken to about options available for mental health and discussed their safety plan with police.

Police executed two warrants.
Police responded to seven 911 calls.
Police responded to one alarm call.
