Moose Jaw Police responded to 49 calls for service.

9:01am – Simcoe St at Thatcher Dr W – Collision – Two-vehicle collision.  Approximately $20,000 worth of damage. Both vehicles towed.  No injuries.  One ticket issued for undue care.

9:05 am – 1100 block Duffield Cr – Fraud – Complainant called to report having lost $8000 to a Canada Revenue scam.

10:09 am – 0 block Chester Rd – Suspicious Person – Complainant called to report a suspicious person that had attempted to take an ash tray from their location and got upset when they were prevented from doing so. A description was provided and the complainant reported having last seen the individual headed south on 9thAv NE. Police attended the area but the individual was gone on arrival.

10:22 am – 0 block Diefenbaker Dr – Assist Hospital – Police assisted hospital in locating and returning a patient in need of care.

12:15 pm – 0 block Manitoba St E – Collision – Van versus motorcycle.  Approximately $20,000 worth damage. One injury. Ticket issued for proceed from stop sign.

1:58 pm – 9th Av NW at Saskatchewan St W – Erratic Driving – Complainant called to report a vehicle that had sped past a jam of other vehicles and turned into a funeral at the church. Still under investigation to speak to owner of vehicle.

2:01 pm – 1st Av SE at Manitoba St E – Traffic Obstruction – City Transit called to report a semi stuck under the overpass. It was determined that the semi driver was simply lost. The driver was redirected to Highway 1.

2:36 pm – 0 block Arrowhead Rd – Disturbance – Complainant called to report shouting coming from nearby condos.  Police attended the area and there appeared to be nothing going on.

3:13 pm – 1400 block Duffield St – Barking Dog – Complainant called to report an ongoing issue with a barking dog in the area. Owner was spoken to under the bylaw.

3:22 pm – 600 block 7th Av SW – Arson – Complainant called to report having found a book on fire in the grass. Police attended the area and determined that someone had tried to use the book to light a fire. Still under investigation to locate the owner of the book.

4:45 pm – 0 block High St W – Mischief – Complainant called to report their vehicle having been keyed. SUI to obtain video footage.

4:47 pm – 1200 block 11th Av SW – Disturbance – Complainant called to report an argument between a parent and child. Police attended the area but both the parent and child were gone on arrival. Social services to be informed of the situation.

5:44 pm – 4th Av SW at Vaughan St – Erratic Driving – Complainant called to report a driver tailgating very closely in the area. Still under investigation to speak to the registered owner of the vehicle. 

2007hrs – 1100 blk Henleaze Ave – Unwanted Guest – Complainant called to report an unwanted individual in their residence. The individual had been asked to leave on several occasions and was refusing to do so. Police attended and the situation was mediated. The individual arranged for transportation elsewhere.

 8:33 pm – 400 block Thatcher Dr E – Disturbance – Complainant called to report an issue they were having with another individual in the parking lot. Police attended and mediated the dispute. Ultimately, the individual agreed to cooperate with the complainant.

8:38 pm – 100 block Athabasca St E – Intoxicated Person – Complainant called report a visibly intoxicated person in the park carrying a bottle of alcohol. Police attended and walked through the area but the individual was not located. In response to a call received at a later time, the individual was located and arrested for being drunk in public. The individual was held until sober and issued a ticket.

8:44 pm – 600 block 2nd Av NE – Suspicious Occurrence – Multiple complainants were made regarding a dog that had been left in a vehicle all day. Police attended and spoke to the owner. The windows of the vehicle were rolled down and the dog was not in distress. It had food and water in the vehicle and had been let out of the vehicle throughout the day.
