Mayor Dale McBain presents his New Year's Address at Moose Jaw City Council Monday night and outlines his goals for 2007.

It’s a tradition that was carried on by our newly elected mayor. A chance to highlight the year that was and the year that will be.

Moose Jaw Mayor Dale McBain presenting his New Year's Address Monday night at City Hall. During the speech, McBain touched on both the good and the bad from 2006. "Looking back at 2006 we can see that it was a challenging year for Moose Jaw with layoffs at Raider Industries, Sash and Door, and Moose Jaw Pork. Despite these challenges 2006 was a good year for construction in Moose Jaw. The values for building permits issued in 2006 were $35,994,700."

McBain expects growth for Moose Jaw in 2007 as our City plans to advertise in Alberta and promote local businesses, as well as launch a new online source for corporations exploring Moose Jaw as a possible location for their new business. "January 2007 will be the month in which Moose Jaw will launch its BizPal initiative. This initiative will provide one stop shopping on the Internet for information on regulations and permits for anyone looking to set up a business in Moose Jaw."
