École Palliser Heights has sent out a notification to parents warning that a positive case of COVID-19 has been found in an individual at the school.

The school is working closely with Public Health to ensure all necessary measures are in place to further protect students.

This is the fourth instance of a COVID-19 case at École Palliser Heights since the start of the year.

Public Health has stated previously that they will not be contacting classmates of infected individuals within elementary school cases, and that each is being treated as an isolated event. Schools however are contacting parents of any students who have been placed in isolation.

Those who could be placed in isolation include staff, visitors, classmates, or volunteers who may have been in close contact with the infected individual. However, if you don't hear back from Public Health after your child has been isolated, it means they have most likely not been exposed.

The school asks that if you or your child has any symptoms of COVID-19, call HealthLine 811 immediately and remain at home.
