The amount of house fires because of power boxes and ground shifting has reached the double digits. The Regina Fire Department was called to a fire around 1:30 Wednesday morning to a house on Price Crescent which SaskPower has confirmed is their 10th fire because of a power box.

Ground shifting over the dry summer months caused power boxes to be pulled from homes which led to fires and SaskPower conducting inspections across Regina and Moose Jaw.

Crews conducted roughly 15-17,000 inspections since summer began.
