A man accused of attempted murder from an alleged machete attack is expected to be sentenced in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on June 6.

Lawyer Nathan Metivier appeared in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Thursday as an agent of Dillon Peeace’s defence lawyer Brian Pfefferle. Peeace appeared via video from remand.

Metivier told the court they needed one more adjournment for the afternoon of June 6 to enter pleas and sentencing.

In previous appearances, Provincial Crown Prosecutor Rob Parker indicated that he hadn’t received any sentencing proposals from Pfefferle. At this appearance, Parker confirmed that he received a “substantial” proposal from Pfefferle.

Parker recommended that the proceeding take place on June 6 at 2:30 p.m. after Drug Traffic Court. The Crown and defence agreed that submissions could take at least an hour.

Peeace was arrested after an alleged machete attack in downtown Moose Jaw on Sept. 28, 2023. He was charged with attempted murder and is also facing several additional charges including breach of an undertaking, causing a disturbance, resisting arrest and breaking and entering.
