Much of the province is digging out, again, with a system passing through that is bringing snow across a large part of Saskatchewan.

The snow is having impacts on the highways, with loose, drifting snow reported in many areas, with snowdrifts piling up as well. Reduced visibility and snowpacks are also being reported in some areas.

You can stay up to date with the latest highway conditions by checking our Road Report page throughout the day.

As of 7:00 a.m. this morning, travel wasn’t recommended on the TransCanada heading west from Regina. Other highways in the Regina area that are impacted include Highway 33 towards Stoughton, Highway 48 to Glenavon, and Highway 11 from Lumsden to Davidson. A number of smaller highways in the area also had travel not recommended advisories.

The west-central part of the province also had travel not recommended advisories in place this morning, including Highway 14 from Wilkie west to the Alberta border and Highway 21 from near Cut Knife south to just north of Kerrobert.

With the snow, milder temperatures are also expected for a good portion of the province.

Daytime highs near or above freezing are expected for the west-central, southwest, south-central and southeast parts of Saskatchewan. Areas to the north and east are expected to continue to see cooler temperatures throughout the day today before temperatures start to climb up tomorrow.
