The Assiniboia Spring Fever Lotto has sold out its 2021 lottery in record time.

Shortly after 1 pm on Friday, the lottery, which is raising money for the construction of a new multi-use facility in Assiniboia, announced they have officially sold out.

President of the Assiniboia Civic Improvement Association, Curtis Nelson.

"It was a whirlwind at the end there. We had all of the phones ringing, it was crazy exciting and we sold this thing out. We've sold out a day or two early, but to sell out a month and a half early is unprecedented for us."

Some of the prizes being given out this year include a plane pack, a 2021 Truck and Camper Package, a New Holland Ranch Pack, a smoker, a drone, a three-day fishing trip, and over 70 other prizes.

In total, $245,000 worth of prizes will be awarded to Saskatchewan residents with a 1 in 64 chance of winning an item.

Nelson says it takes a large team effort to put this on every year.

"We literally have hundreds of helpers; we have our minor hockey parents who phone throughout the year for us, we've got a half dozen people answering phones here, we've got hundreds of people who send out letters at the start of the year, so it's really a community effort and I want to thank each and every one of them for all of the hard work they put into this year's lottery."

And while tickets for the lottery might no longer be on sale, the 50/50 is still ongoing until the end of May and has already amassed a record-sized jackpot.
