Today's daily COVID-19 update is bittersweet.

The bad news is that one additional resident in their 70's has died as a result of contracting the novel-coronavirus. The person lived in the Central West zone.

Now for the good news. Today, August 25, the Government of Saskatchewan is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 in the province.

This is the first day since June 5th, 2020 that no new cases have been reported. The active case count has been steadily decreasing over the past week and today's report is keeping up that trend. In addition, with 10 new recoveries, the active case count is now 88 and a total of 1,601 people have contracted the virus.

Currently, four people are in hospital and one person is receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon.
