The equipment used by the City of Moose Jaw to make repairs, and the people that operate that equipment, will be on display Wednesday afternoon.

The City is hosting a National Public Works Week celebration at the City complex on High Street West, and Municipal Operations Manager Darren Stephanson says we can get a better understanding of what city crews do.

"Everything people see is above ground on the road and the maintenance that we do to what's under the ground with regards to water and wastewater, they do play a very key role in function of the city," said Stephanson.

He noted that those in attendance will be able to converse with operators and city employees, while getting a chance to see the equipment used everyday.

There will be a charity barbecue from 11am until 3pm where the city is asking for donations, with proceeds going to Hunger in Moose Jaw.

He says a number of school children will be there, though everyone is invited to attend.
