Well, I can now say "Been there, done that".

It wasn't pleasant.  It started with a tickle in my throat one morning.  I thought it was just seasonal allergies.  By early afternoon that same day I knew it was something more serious and by the end of the day I knew I had it - COVID-19.At first,

I was angry.  I had been so careful for most of the past two years - masking, sanitizing and following the public health orders.  By the next day I didn't have the energy to be angry.  I was too sick. I went through aches and pains and fever on day one and that would turn into shaking and chills the next day as my aging body did its best to fight off the virus.

The coughing, congestion and fatigue would follow and, two weeks later, it's still a struggle.

Two things:  Thank goodness for vaccines.  I believe the virus would have hit me hard if I had not been vaccinated.  And, I'm pretty pleased that I don't smoke cigarettes anymore.  If I had still been smoking a pack-a-day like I used to, I might have been in big trouble.
