I met Ronnie Lancaster and George Reed and got their autographs in the Riders' locker room back in 1975.

Another time, offensive lineman Ralph Galloway came to our home and had dinner with us.  Turkey dinner.  He wasn't shy about having a second helping!

Later in life, as a sports reporter at CHAB, I did radio and TV shows with Kent Austin and Ray Elgaard.

I remember each and every one of those occasions because they were special to me. I grew up idolizing Ronnie and George and as a young professional, I was still star-struck when I met and worked with Austin and Elgaard.

My point is, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are special and a number of alumni will be in Moose Jaw tomorrow night for Riders Alumni Night at the Grant Hall Hotel.  The event features world-class, high-end food and drink, a chance for you to rub elbows with living legends and raise some money for the local kids who play football.

If you're a Rider fan, if you're a football fan, you might consider attending.  Tickets are available at the Grant Hall.  It might be a night you'll never forget.
