Moose Jaw City Council is looking for a Moose Jaw resident interested in positively impacting the community to serve as a member of the Moose Jaw Board of Police Commissioners. 

They provide a list of qualities they are looking for in a candidate: 

• Understanding of the distinction between the strategic and policy setting role of the Board and the operational responsibilities of the Chief.  

• Capability to give leadership to the development of the Board and the Police Service pursuant to The Police Act, 1990.  

• Commitment to the vision, mission, values and strategic goals of the Board.

• Ability to work as a member of a team.  

• Respect for and tolerance of the views of others.  

• Recognition of the time commitment and the willingness to devote the time and energy necessary to perform the role of a board member.  

• Knowledge of and appreciation for First Nations and Metis family systems and community dynamics. 

The Moose Jaw Police Board of Commissioners provides policing service, maintains a reasonable standard of law enforcement, and provides adequate and reasonable facilities as required. 

Applications are open to those over the age of 18, that are Canadian citizens and are full-time residents of Moose Jaw.
