Sanding trucks have already been out fighting icy streets but snow removal teams are still waiting in the wings for their turn.

While we've only had a bit of snow in the city of Moose Jaw so far, we all know there's more to come.

Public Works Manager Duane Grado says the sanders have been out on several occasions already and the snowploughs are ready to roll.

"During the week, we start at 5am and work until 4pm and we're available for call after regular hours. On the weekends, we have a small crew working at 7:30 in the morning until 4pm each weekend day and on holidays."

The City of Moose Jaw doesn't go into residential neighbourhoods for snow removal but if snow ruts get too deep to drive on they will go out and shave down the ice and snow.
