NIS Contractors, the contractors selected for the 2020 program, have been selected once again for the 2021 program.

This year $5.8 million has been set aside to replace over three kilometres of failing water main pipes.

Replacements will take place in the following areas:

  • Elsom St. from Main St. N to 2nd Ave. SE (416m)
  • Caribou St. W from 4th Ave. NW to 10th Ave. NW (1370m)
  • 7th Ave NW from Caribou St. W to Saskatchewan St. W (661m)
  • Carleton St. from 9th Ave. NW to 10th Ave. NW (275m)
  • Fairford St. E from 3rd Ave. NE to 5th Ave. NE (290m) (To be performed by a separate contractor under the servicing contract for the Agri-Food Industrial Park)

The city will be delivering information to the affected property owners as well as inviting them to a virtual open house on April 14 at 6:30 p.m. The open house will be recorded and posted at www.moosejaw.ca/watermainreplacement on April 16.

“When we're working with all the property owners, we want to be able to make sure that there's access and ensure that people are being able to get to and fro to their places of work and home,” said Mayor Fraser Tolmie.

To receive a link to the open house email watermainreplacement@moosejaw.ca.

Construction will be taking place this week at the following locations to finish up work from 2020:

  • 900 block of Stadacona St. East
  • 1200 block of 3rd Ave. NW

Traffic restrictions will be in place in these areas beginning April 7.
