Darian Durant confirmed the inevitable on Tuesday afternoon as the Saskatchewan Roughriders returned to practice at Mosaic Stadium.

"I'm out," the Roughriders quarterback told the media.

Durant say him and head coach Ken Miller sat down and despite reluctance from both sides, felt it was the best decision for the team, "The more you sit down and think about it and the more you watch that hit I took out in Calgary, we don't want anything like that to happen again so."

He says he's suffering for additional injuries then what have been disclosed, but didn't want to elaborate, "There are a couple other injuries that haven't been stated that could use some rest also.  Just use it as some heal up time."

With the Durant out, that means backup Ryan Dinwiddie will get the start against Hamilton on Saturday.  Cole Bergquist is also expected to see some playing time.

Dinwiddie says he's happy for another shot after throwing thre

e interceptions against Edmonton on October 10th, his first start in three years.

"I'm definitely excited for it," said Dinwiddie. "Any chance you get to get on the field to go play you're excited for the opportunity."

Bergquist came in for some short yardage situations during last week's loss in Calgary and says he's excited to get a chance to play, "I've been waiting in the wings for a long time.  This is why I come early in the mornings and stay late at night, to get my first opportunity and shine."

Durant says he'll work with the two younger quarterbacks over the next two weeks, "I'll just try to help Ryan and Cole as much as I can,  Help the receivers and just try to get healthy."

The Riders will be back at practice on Wednesday and it's expected that they will be rotating in a number of new players when they host the Tiger-Cats on Saturday at 1pm.
