Emergency Crews were called out yesterday at around 1:00 pm to a major accident on Highway 2, five kilometres north of Moose Jaw.

It was a head collision between a car heading northbound, and a Semi Truck heading Southbound that ended in fires on both vehicles and on the roadway.

RCMP confirmed the driver of the car, a 29-year-old woman, was the lone occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene.

Fire Chief Rod Montgomery gave more details.

"Our Firefighters arrived and were able to put the fires out. The driver of the semi was able to get out on his own and was looked after by EMS on scene with non-lifethreatening injuries. However, there was certainly one fatality we're aware of (the driver of the car heading north)."

Montgomery added that the firefighters returned back to the hall around 6:00 pm.
