Almost four year old Deacon Mealing has a rare condition which causes development issues, and health officials are still working on gathering information to figure out what it is.

Deacon and his family have to travel down to the states in order to receive treatment, and today, Brent Evans is hoping to help raise funds for him and his family.

"Deacon is having some developmental issues. There's no real name for it yet, having some seizures that sort of thing," said Evans. "He's a little four year old boy, and having to travel down into the Las Vegas Henderson area for treatments and into Sacramento San Francisco and up to Saskatoon, I'm just trying to help out the little fella."

Evans fundraiser will run from 11 am to 2 pm today. The fire department will be down cooking hamburgers and hot dogs to be sold for $3, there is raffle tickets being sold for different prizes, and a silent auction taking place also.

Brad Johner and the Johner Boys will be also down from 1 pm to 2 pm to provide entertainment and all these events take place at 1430 Caribou Street East.

The best part is the money raised will all go to Deacon and his family so they can get him the treatment he needs.

"I am have two healthy grandsons and it just breaks my heart to see little boys and families struggling," said Evans. "I just want to give back."
