Environment Canada issued a weather advisory for much of southern Saskatchewan, including Moose Jaw, after funnel clouds were spotted Wednesday morning.

According to the weather service, "two or three weak funnel clouds have been reported between Moose Jaw and Mossbank late this morning. There may be some more funnel clouds until about mid-afternoon after which time the atmosphere will stabilize. These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado."

Environment Canada ended the advisory Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3:45.  If you ever see funnel clouds or severe weather, you can call us at 306-693-6397 or use our 'Submit News' feature.
