Ever since graduation ceremonies were cancelled, the graduating class of 2020 has been hoping and searching for a way to get their special day.

A local woman has come up with an idea. A socially distant grad parade at Hamilton Flats for all graduates in the city.

Jody Chell explains the plan which is to take place Sunday, June 14th.

"What we are planning on doing is having the grad family and friends as spectators, the family can walk with the grad in the grand march. We are going to organize the grads into schools and all schools are welcome and then they will walk between two rows of cars down the road at Hamilton Flats."

While there is a registration form to be found on the event page on Facebook, Chell says you don't have to fill it out to be able to come.

Chell explained why she came up with the idea.

"To be honest it was a little selfish, my daughter is graduating from central collegiate this year and we have had this in mind for a month or two now but didn't know how we were going to execute it. I think the grads still deserve a celebration, and they deserve to be recognized for all their hard work."
