Greta "Edna" McGillivray
August 25, 1932 - April 28, 2024

Edna passed away at the Dr F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw on April 28, 2024, with family at her side.

Edna described herself as a "chauffeur, gardener, and seamstress". She sewed clothes for her children, including her daughters' figure skating costumes, school clothing, as well as cheerleading outfits for the high school cheerleading squad after being volunteered by her oldest daughter. Edna was a talented, knowledgeable and beautiful seamstress whose passion for sewing was passed on to many students and customers from her years working at the Weyburn Fabric Centre. Her children and grandchildren also benefited from her creative talent, with her willingness to make rather elaborate Halloween and play costumes.  Edna was also a cheerleader in her own right, watching and cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their numerous sporting and dancing events.

Often quiet and reserved in public settings, with her family, Edna was the life of the party.  Her wit and humour will never be forgotten and "Mom" stories will be told for years to come.

Edna was predeceased by her husband, Donald Joseph McGillivray, and her daughter, Diane Joyce McGillivray.  She is survived by her children; Jeanne (Jim) Large and children Tyler (Christy), Ashley (Kim), Colby (Patricia), Dustin (Rena), and Kailey (Jeff) Anuik; Shirley McGillivray; Cynthia McGillivray; Andrew (Patti) McGillivray and children Megan and Katelyn; twelve great grandchildren; two of her five sisters, Arvilla Carleton and Edith Bernard; brother-in-law Murray (Selena) McGillivray; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Bentley in Moose Jaw, who provide an incredible environment for senior living. They would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Dr F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for their compassion and their care during Edna's last days.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In living memory of Greta, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
