Two musicians with monster careers are celebrating their birthdays today - Gladys Knight and John Fogerty!

Gladys Knight was born on this day in 1944. The 'Empress of Soul' recorded two #1 Billboard Hot 100 singles with 'Midnight Train to Georgia.' and 'That's What Friends Are For.'  She also recorded eleven #1 R&B singles along with six #1 R&B albums.

The winner of 7 Grammy awards has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon as she's got a number of shows coming up across the UK and the US this year. She turns 75 today.

And John Fogerty, who was born in 1945, is celebrating his 74th birthday!

Forming the band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) in 1967, the group went on to produce nine top-ten singles and eight Gold albums between 1968 and 1972.

Fogerty went on to have a successful solo career as well, releasing 9 studio albums between '73-'13, yet only had one #1 single on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. His most successful solo album was Centerfield, which was released in 1985. It peaked at #1 and was certified Multi-Platinum twice. His two follow up albums, released in 1986 and 1997, were both certified Gold in the US.

Fogerty made a stop in Moose Jaw for a concert at Mosaic Place in 2014, playing a lengthy 29 song set-list that garnered rave reviews, playing such hits as 'Down on the Corner,' 'Fortunate Son,' 'Midnight Special' and 'Lodi.' He also recently made stops in Regina and Saskatoon this year as part of his 'My 50 Year Trip' tour.

So today, we salute Mrs. Knight and Mr. Fogerty, as two massive contributors to the 'Greatest Hits of all Time.'
