As many businesses in Moose Jaw are taking an involuntary pause, one has decided to step up by going into a different line of work...making face masks.

Kwala-T Cleaners in town has gone from dry cleaning and laundry service to developing face masks that are being used in the healthcare system.

"We had a bunch of fabric at the cleaners and while I don't sew, I have some girls that do, so I cut up all the fabric and they sew them up!"

Evans said the idea came to her after seeing a social media post from a local nurse asking if anybody knew how to make the masks.

She went on to say that right now they are only making the masks for healthcare workers, but if they have time - they can make some for individuals in need.

"[Right now] We just drop them off to the girl we knew who will distribute them to the nurses. But if we get a chance to make some more, we can private message anyone who wants them through Facebook, they can stop by the store and pick them up."

So far, the crew at Kwala-T Cleaners has made 41 masks.
