He believes our city has a lot of potential and, because of that, he has thrown his name in the mix for a seat on Moose Jaw City Council.

65 year old Lloyd Hackel born and raised in Moose Jaw and has travelled the world with the Canadian Forces.  Now retired, he says he wants the best for Moose Jaw and thinks he has the tools to be a good asset in council chambers.  Hackel actually ran for council unsuccessfully in 2009, but that hasn't deterred him.

"I understand that people come to a discussion table with a variety of ideas and passion.  I have no problem with strong, animated debate where we thrash things out but once the decision is made, we're all on board and we move with the train as it leaves the station."

Hackel's campaign centres around optimizing investment and economic opportunities for Moose Jaw.  He'd also like to see the city modernize some of the it's systems, processes and services being provided.
