If you heard the sound of bagpipes throughout Moose Jaw Sunday, know that you're not alone.

Moose Jaw bagpiper Michelle Gallagher is a member of the City of Regina Pipe Band and spent fathers day touring the Friendly city playing shows, raising money for the Food Bank.

Gallagher tells us who she all played for.

Michelle playing the pipes at Vimy Ridge in 2007 during a battlefield tour with the Saskatchewan Dragoons.

"I actually played at West Park, which was lovely. They were all outside in a horseshoe area, while all staying two metres apart of course. Some friends of mine booked me, my brother got his black bear and he didn't know I was coming, my mother and I put in the donation for that one. A family had me play for a loved one that they lost this year, and I played for some new fathers as well which was lovely."

She went on to say that each time she would set up at a residence to play, crowds would end up gathering outside to watch and see what all the commotion was about.

It cost $100 to book Gallagher, and proceeds were given to the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank.

"I was able to raise $900 for Moose Jaw's Food Bank, and in Regina, the rest of my band raised $3,500 for the Regina Food Bank. I started at noon and I wasn't done until 4:30 going from place to place. I was tired at the end, my arm was hurting from squeezing the pipe bag. It was all really good fun though, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves."

Gallagher says after the success on Father's day, she might do it again next year - with some extra help from the Regina Pipe Band so she can reach everyone who wants a show.
