The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan dropped back below 1,400, as the provincial government reported recoveries that far outpaced new cases Sunday afternoon. With just 98 new cases, and 166 recoveries, the number of active cases dropped to 1,399. The daily update also confirmed two more deaths connected to COVID-19. One of the deaths was a person in the 20-29 age range in Regina, while the other was a person in the 80+ age group in the North West zone.

Of the new cases reported on Sunday, 27 were in Regina, and another 25 were in Saskatoon. There were 15 new cases in the Central East zone, six in the Far North East, South West and South East zones, four in the South Central zone, three in the North West zone, two in the Central West zone, and one in the North Central zone. There is one new case pending residence information.

There are currently 131 people who are in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19. Of those, there are 29 people in intensive care.

The update on Sunday reported an additional 2,220 doses of COVID-19 vaccine being administered, bringing the total province wide to 102,415.

It was also announced the eligibility for making COVID-19 appointments is again expanding, now to include those who are 70 years of age and older starting Monday morning. Additionally, those in the Northern Administrative District who are over the age of 50 will be eligible to book appointments.
