The COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has again been expanded.

Starting Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m., those who are 72 and older will be able to book an appointment to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine either online, or by phone. The website option is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Booking by phone, which can be done by calling 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829) is available between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.

The booking system launched on Thursday, and has been extremely successful. As of Saturday afternoon, 22,151 people had booked vaccination appointments, with the vast majority doing so online. The online portal has been responsible for 78.7 percent of the appointments book, with the phone line handling 21.3 percent.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reminding people to only attempt to book an appointment if you are eligible to do so, and thanks those who have not attempted to do so, allowing those who are eligible to book more easily.
