The Moose Jaw Miller Express have dropped the first three games of a four-game series with the Medicine Hat Maverick. The Miller Express hosted the third game on Wednesday night and dropped a 15-7 decision to the Mavericks at Ross Wells Park.

Moose Jaw got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning with Austin Gurney hitting a sacrifice fly to score Thomas Soto.

Medicine Hat rebounded in the top of the second inning to tie up the game 1-1 before taking the lead with an eight-run fourth inning.

The Miller Express got back on the board in the bottom of the seventh. Nathan Houston hit into a fielder's choice that drove in Garrett Dennis for Moose Jaw's second run.

Medicine Hat extended their lead to 14-2 with five runs in the top of the eighth before Declan O'Hare scored on a Dennis fielder's choice in the bottom half of the inning for Moose Jaw.

The Mavericks added another run in the top of the ninth inning to take a 15-3 lead. Moose Jaw tried to mount a comeback in the bottom of the ninth with four runs. Nate Mensik hit a double to score Own Robbins. The next batter, O'Hare, then hit a double to score Mensik. Darren Hagan rounded out the scoring by hitting a two-run homerun to make the final 15-7.

It was a rough night at the plate for the Miller Express. Mensik, O'Hare and Hagan each went two-for-five at the plate. Bo Jacob Garza got the start on the mound for the Miller Express. He went three and one-third innings, allowing 10 hits, nine runs and striking out one.

The Miller Express wraps up a four-game series with Medicine Hat tonight at 7 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.
