The Moose Jaw Miller Express dropped a pair of games during a weekend three-game road swing. 

On Friday night, the Miller Express picked up a 12-6 win over the Weyburn Beavers. 

Nathan Houston went two-for-three at the plate with four RBIs. Austin Gurney had three hits for three RBIs, and Wyatt Tweet had a three-run home run for the Miller Express. 

Cameron Dunn got the start on the mound for Moose Jaw and went six innings, allowing four runs off eight hits and struck out two. 

The Miller Express were in Medicine Hat on Saturday to face the Mavericks and dropped a 13-12 decision in extra innings. 

Moose Jaw held a 12-6 lead into the bottom of the seventh when Medicine Hat drove in six runs to tie the game. 

Gurney had another outstanding day at the plate, going three for six and four RBIs. Nate Mensik was three-for-five with three RBIs. Gurney, Mensik and Evan Deringer each had home runs for the Miller Express. 

Ethan Merk got the start on the mound. He pitched six innings and allowed six runs on nine hits and struck out three. 

The Miller Express wrapped up the weekend with a 6-1 loss on Sunday to the Mavericks. 

The lone Moose Jaw run came in the top of the second inning. Bobby Pokorney’s sacrifice fly scored Joe Osborn. 

Declan O’Hare was Moose Jaw’s starting pitcher. He allowed 11 hits and five runs in six innings for work while striking out three. 

Moose Jaw will now go on a four-game home stretch at Ross Wells Park. It starts with a two-game series against Medicine Hat on Wednesday and Thursday. Game time for both games is 7 p.m.
