Moose Jaw's Marie Wright was named a finalist for the Saskatchewan Sport Female Athlete of the Year award on Monday.

Wright put together an incredible 2018, which included helping Canada to a bronze medal in wheelchair curling at the 2018 Paralympic Games in South Korea.

The 58-year-old also became the first female skip to win the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship, beating Manitoba 11-1 in the final.

The local athlete will be up against Prince Albert's Brittany Hudak, a Para-Nordic Skier, and Saskatoon's Shelby Newkirk, a Para Swimmer.

The award will be presented in Saskatoon in March.
