Moose Javians head to the polls to elect new school board trustee in PSSD

Moose Jaw residents are heading to the polls today (March 9) to elect a new school board trustee in Prairie South School Division (PSSD).

The by-election was needed to fill the spot vacated by trustee Todd Johnson, who resigned from his position in November 2022 to take on the role of Transportation Manager for the division.

There are eight names on the ballot vying for the trustee position in Subdivision #6 (City of Moose Jaw).

Candidates include: Sommer Amare, Karli Amundrud, Patrick Boyle, Tony Dreger, Bruce Fritzler, Sandra Kitts, Brian Martynook, and Shelley Jones. Zachariah Bachmann has chosen to withdraw his name from the election. However, because he withdrew following the withdrawal period, his name will still appear on the ballot.

Voting will take place from 9 am until 8 pm, and is open to all residents of the City of Moose Jaw.

Polls will be open at Riverview Collegiate, A.E. Peacock Collegiate, and Sunningdale School. Proper I.D. is required.

Results will be released on March 10 at 2 pm.
