The Moose Jaw Miller Express would score six runs in the final two innings to take down the Swift Current 57s 7-2 on Wednesday night at Ross Wells Park.  

Dawson Tweet and Nate Mensik came through for Moose Jaw. Tweet drove in three runs and went 2-for-5 with a double, while Nate Mensik also had a double along with two RBIs.  

Austin Gurney, Dougie Delacruz, Julio Acosta, and Thomas Soto all had a hit in the win.  

Zach Sigmon picked up his third win of the season, pitching only two innings of relief work, and had four strikeouts.  

Miller Express starter Matt Vasquez pitched five innings, allowing only one run on three hits, and had two strikeouts in the no-decision.

Swift Current would take the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. With Cory Bonstrom on third base, Ethan Murdoch would come through with an RBI single to give the 57s the lead.  

In the bottom of the third inning, Moose Jaw would tie the game at 1-1.  

The game would remain 1-1 until the bottom of the seventh inning, as Moose Jaw would score two runs to take their first lead of the game, it was 3-1.  

The 57s would get within a single run in the eighth inning and cut their deficit to 3-2.  

That’s as close as they would get, as the Miller Express would tack on four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and would close out the game in the ninth to win 7-2.  

Moose Jaw snapped their two-game losing streak and would pick up their 27th win of the season, while Swift Current would drop their ninth game in a row.  

The Miller Express still holds that first-place lead in the east division with a 27-13 record and is eight games ahead of the Medicine Hat Mavericks.  

Moose Jaw and Swift Current will wrap up their home-and-home series on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Mitchell Field.  

Their next home game will be on Friday night, as they welcome the Lethbridge Bulls to Ross Wells Park for a two-game series.
