Facing highs and lows, budget cuts and tremendous support from the community, Wakamow CEO Margaret Moran has announced that she will be stepping down this spring.

Moran will have served 13 years in the role that has helped to transform the park. She's helped to get the river cleaned up, replace old play structures, washrooms, picnic areas, organized a new bridge and a low-level cross that completely connects the Moose Jaw trail system.

"My favourite accomplishment that I did was the Saulteaux Bridge," said Moran while reminiscing. "That was the bridge that we did in partnership with the Canadian Forces. It's such a unique bridge and for me, and a lot of people I think, it's a tourist attraction down in the valley."

Moran will stay on through the spring as the search for a new CEO gets underway.
