The Pense Volunteer Firefighters will be hosting a Benefit Supper this Friday night at 5 pm. The supper will include Burgers and Fries, and they plan on having it be an event for the entire community to get involved, even if they can't make it to the fire hall.

Nicole Smith, with the Organizing Committee, explained their plan.

"Our lovely fire department and our "fancy" fire department van will be travelling around Pense, and delivering our freshly cooked burgers and fries, so we can skip the dishes, and everybody can have just a nice Friday night supper and benefit a great family."

The Benefit Supper will be raising funds for the family of Jordyn Wood, a local girl from Pense, who lives with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. The condition causes the person's bones to be come brittle and easily broken, and requires great amounts of treatment, which can be very expensive for families when the operations cannot be done locally.

"We have a family in our community that's experiencing kind of a medical challenge, and they do a lot for the community." Said Smith, "They've had to travel out of province, their daughter had gone through some surgery, and so we're just doing something to kind of lift their spirits and give them a bit of a helping hand."

The benefit supper isn't the only way you can help donate, according to Smith. You can send funds to the family through the Pense Volunteer Fire Department, with E-transfer at their email, pvfd@pense.ca

"I'm just really proud of this family and all that they do for the community, and I'm glad we could do something to give back to them, and everybody around and the small towns have really supported us as well, so it's awesome to see any of that sort of stuff coming together, hopefully everybody will be able to come out on Friday. "
