For another year, Phoenix Academy is looking to give their students a little Christmas cheer, and they need the community's to help to "adopt a student for Christmas."

Phoenix Academy strives to give students enrolled everything they need to achieve academic and emotional success. Whether it be through schedule changes or an individualized program, they want students to do the best they can. With this in mind, they are also giving gifts to their students to teach another kind of lesson.

"We were wanting to spread the message of Christ and the birth of Christ at Christmas, and by doing so we are going to hand an unconditional gift to all of the students in the school in attendance," Principal Jeff Lynnes explained.

They want to provide each of their 80 students with a small gift worth about $10, but if you've noticed, that'll equal up to $800 for Holy Trinity Catholic School Division. This is why the staff is reaching out, looking for help to reach their goal of giving each student a present.

Every year they've managed to reach their goal, but that's only because of continued support Moose Javians have aided in making their Christmas extra special. Even if you don't want to give a monetary donation, they'll accept any small gift you'd be able to give. In the past they've received toiletries, food hampers, gift cards, and warm clothing.

This will also benefit the school after Christmas. If they raise enough money and have some left over, it still goes back to the students through their student care and graduation fund. The student care fund makes sure that the students have what they need. This money helps the school buy the kids food or get them a jacket if they don't have one.

If you'd like to donate, you can call 306-694-1289 or email the staff at Phoenix Academy to set up a time for dropping off your donation or having someone pick it up.
