One man is in custody after a string of Victoria Day events in Sunningdale.

Moose Jaw Police were called to Buttercup Crescent before 6 a.m. Monday after a vehicle with Alberta plates - later determined to be stolen - smashed into two parked cars. The driver had already fled the scene.

About five hours later, police responded to a break and enter in progress on Calypso Drive, and found a man hiding in the yard.

Police say the B&E suspect was also responsible for the hit and run, and the 39-year old faces several break and enter charges, in addition to possession of stolen property.

He'll make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.

Investigators initially believed two people fled the scene of the hit and run.
