After reading through the many pages of the federal budget we have found an area where funding for the multiplex could flow.

We found it after scanning numerous pages of the budget report and he confirmed it.

Palliser Conservative Member of Parliament Dave Batters is optimistic we'll get some federal dollars for our proposed, new multiplex in Moose Jaw after the released of the federal budget this week.

Batters says Saskatchewan is going to get about 260 million dollars for infrastructure projects this year and he believes our multiplex will fit. "The final decision will be made by Cabinet within six weeks. I'm optimistic but I don't want to go out and promise money for the multiplex and then prejudice the outcome because its a decision to be made by Cabinet but I'll certainly be talking with my Cabinet colleges."

The funds come from an infrastructure portion of the budget with 8.8 billion dollars set aside for projects across the country and 260 million will be Saskatchewan's portion.

Batters says those responsible for making the decisions are well aware of our plans to build a new multiplex and he says that's because of the hard work of Moose Jaw's City Administration team and the local MultiPlex Builders.

But this is not the only area we could receive some sort of funding from. Another portion of the budget allows for 1.26 billion dollars for private public partnerships across the country. A P3 funding partnership is an option for the multiplex and can be successful, just ask Chilliwack.

According to the budget, the national fund for public-private partnerships is to be awarded among projects on a merit basis. The fund will contribute up to 25 per cent of the cost of innovative public-private partnership projects.
