The Government of Saskatchewan has loosened up some guidelines for sports teams practicing in the province.

Large pool facilities, ice surfaces, and floor spaces - such as gyms - can now be used for multiple groups of individuals while practicing or training.

The new guidelines are as follows:

  • There must be 5 metres of physical distancing between groups, and 3 metres between participants - with all wearing masks.
  • Each group must be made up of 8 people or less.
  • The maximum number of people in a facility is 30, not including coaches or staff.
  • And there can be 2 or 3 groups of 8 on ice surfaces, plus two instructors for groups U9 and higher, and four instructors for groups U7 and below, but only if the groups are distanced by five metres.

As a practical example: you could have groups of eight players at either end below the bluelines and a third group in the neutral zone between the blue lines.

All players and coaches must wear a mask.
