The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the provincial total to 1,688.

The new cases are located in the Far North East (1), Saskatoon (4), Central East (7), and Regina (1).

Sixty-six of the cases are considered active and five more people have recovered.

To date, 155,332 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. As of Sept. 9, when other provincial and national numbers were available from the Public Health Agency of Canada, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 110,427 people tested per million population. The national rate was 159,076 people tested per million population.

On Thursday, 1,683 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan.

In addition, the SHA is warning that four recent flights in and out of Saskatchewan were exposed to the virus. These include:

  •  Flair Airlines: F8513, Toronto to Saskatoon, Sept. 3, Rows 1 to 7
  •  WestJet: WS256, Calgary to Regina Sept. 1, Rows 2 to 8
  •  Air Canada: AC8569, Regina to Vancouver, Aug. 23
  •  Air Canada: AC8570 Vancouver to Regina, Aug. 21
  • Air Canada: AC7947, Toronto to Regina, Sept. 6
  • Air Canada flight 7947 from Toronto to Regina. The individual arrived at the airport around 9:30 pm, collected luggage, and left around 10 pm.

Several individuals who took these flights later tested positive for COVID-19. Anyone else on the flights is advised to self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days following the date of the flights.
