There was no shortage of offensive fireworks on Tuesday night when the Assiniboia Southern Rebels went into the Queen City.  They knocked off the Regina Capitals 7-6 to start a two-game midweek road trip.

Tucker Neuberger led the offensive charge with two goals in the win, but it was a complete team effort as six players had multi-point nights.

The Capitals were the ones to strike first in the game with Taylor Metz getting Regina on the board just under five minutes into the game.  Goals from Josh Schwindt and Lane Cayer would give the Rebels the 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission though.

Regina controlled the second period and would go into the second break with a 4-3 lead after scoring three goals in the frame.  The Capitals' Gage Rapitta scored 1:39 into the period to tie the game at 2-2.  A power play marker from Bryan Polmear restored the Rebels lead at 3-2, but late goals by Metz and Ryan Hawkins for Regina gave them the lead.

The third period was all Assiniboia as they tied the game just over five minutes into the frame with a goal by Davide Gilli.  That lead didn't last long however as Dillion Frater put Regina back out in front with 7:51 to go in the game.  Neuberger's first of the game just over a minute later tied the game back up and the Rebels took the lead a minute later with a power play goal by Zach Flemming.

Neuberger provided some insurance with another power play goal with 1:03 to go in the game and it was needed as Derek Gianoli picked up a shorthanded goal with 44 seconds left, but they couldn't get the equalizer as the Rebels won their 13th game of the season.

Kevin Orthner made 28 saves to pick up the win in the Rebels goal, while they fired 38 shots on Regina goalie Braven MacPherson.

The Rebels finish up their quick two-game road trip on Wednesday night when they make the trip out to Pilot Butte to face off with the South Division-leading Storm.  Assiniboia trails the Storm by one point in the standings and lost their meeting last Wednesday, 9-2.
