Journey to Hope is again holding its Get Loud for Mental Health fundraising event on Sept. 24 at the amphitheater in Crescent Park.

Get Loud For Mental Health helps raise funds for Journey to Hope to help support suicide awareness and prevention and to give hope and healing to those who may have lost a loved one to suicide.

The event gets underway with music at 10 a.m. and the program with guest speakers at 10:30 a.m. The guest speakers for this year’s Get Loud For Mental Health are still to be confirmed.

“What we always have is someone who represents the families who've experienced the loss of a loved one, and they share about how they've found hope, how they've worked on their healing, and how they honour the memory of their precious loved one,” said Journey to Hope’s Della Ferguson.

During the program, Journey to Hope will also acknowledge some of the people and organizations that have supported the organization over the past year.

In particular, Ferguson said the Ruck It Up For Mental Health Fundraiser was a huge boost for them.

“They did a fundraiser and put $10,000 towards Journey to Hope. Moose Jaw it notoriously generous and we are some grateful for that and it is through those generous donations that we are able to do that work and all the money stays in this local region,” she said.

Following the program, at around 11:30 a.m., there will be a reflective walk around Crescent Park.

“One of the big highlights of this year's event will be in a reflective walk when we will see where Journey the Hope Youth chapter mural has been placed in Crescent Park,” Ferguson said.
