Many came out to enjoy some drinks and experience the quality cuisine at this year's Saskatchewan Roughriders Alumni night.

President of the Riders Alumni, Terry Bulych explaines why the alumni are getting out into communities across the province.

"This is our third annual event. When we were looking at recreating the entire alumni experience, we decided that we needed to spread our wings and touch more of the fan base throughout the province. Moose Jaw was one of the places we looked at and really wanted to go to."

Funds from the evening went to support Moose Jaw Minor Football.

Moose Jaw Minor Football spokesperson Marilynn Bucholz explains what minor football plans to do with the funding from the night.

"Two years ago, minor football decided to take an initiative with a community fundraising program. We showed them how our kids practice on old outdoors rinks. They realized that this isn't the way to teach kids the game, so they have started to pitch in and that's where we are today."

Many former Riders came out for the event including Belton Johnson, who was a Rider from 2006 to 2009, and he spoke about why he likes these types of events.

"With Rider alumni, it's all about us giving back to the community. As a former player who got to play for 10 years, it's all about the community for me."

Other members in attendance included hall of famers, Roger Aldag, Gene Makowsky and George Reed.
