A big focus this offseason for the Saskatchewan Roughriders has been adding pieces to their defensive line.

The Riders locked up a big piece of last year's defence as they re-signed national defensive lineman Eddie Steele to a one-year deal.

Steele picked up 23 defensive tackles and one sack while starting all 18 regular season games during his first year with Saskatchewan. He also had one tackle in two playoff games.

The 23-year-old University of Manitoba product has played in 108 regular season games over seven CFL seasons. He won a Grey Cup in 2015 with the Eskimos.

Steele joines Willie Jefferson, Charleston Hughes and Zack Evans along a loaded Riders' defensive front.
