Moose Jaw Warrior Morgan Rielly and Team Canada watched Russia evened up the 2012 Canada-Russia Challenge with a 6-3 on Friday morning.

The 2012 NHL second overall pick scored Canada’s second goal, which cut Russia’s lead to 3-2 early in the third period, but that was as close as Canada would get.  Russia scored three in the third to even the four-game series.

Portland’s Ty Rattie picked up a goal and two points in the loss and Saskatoon’s Lukas Sutter assisted on Rielly’s third period marker.

Winnipeg Jets prospect Mark Scheifele was ejected in the first period after being called on a game misconducted for kneeing Russian forward Kirill Kapustin.  Kapustin would go on to score a hat trick for Russia.

Maxime Lagace got the start in net for Canada.  Blades goalie Andrei Makarov was in goal for Russia.

The series now shifts to Halifax for Games 3 and 4 on Monday and Tuesday night.
