Moose Jaw Warrior Morgan Rielly and Team Canada are returning home from the World Under-18 Hockey Championship in Germany empty handed after losing 6-4 to Russia in the Bronze Medal Game on Sunday.

Canada led 2-1 until midway through the second, Russia took over, scoring four straight goals to take 4-2.  Ryan Murphy would score his second of the game for Canada before the period was out to pull Canada within two.

Brett Ritchie would make it a one goal game with just under two minutes to go, but Nail Yakupov ended the comeback hopes with his hat-trick goal into an empty net for the 6-4 Russia win.

Murphy finished the game with two goals and four points in the loss for Canada, but in the process set the Canadian record for most points at a World Under-18s.

Rielly was held off the scoresheet in Sunday's game, but finished the tournament two goals and three points.

Andrew D'Agostini made 27 saves in the loss.  Canada fired 42 shots on Russian goalie Andrei Vasilevski.

The United States finished off their undefeated run, with their second straight overtime win, beating Sweden 4-3 in the Gold Medal Game.  The Americans needed overtime to beat Canada 5-4 in the semi-finals on Saturday.

In other International Hockey action on Sunday, Canada beat France 3-2 in an exhibition tune-up in Paris.  Captain Rick Nash, Jason Spezza and Chris Stewart were the goal scorers for Canada.
