Sunday's rematch of the 2017 NLL Cup Final played out in a similar fashion for the Saskatchewan Rush with a narrow loss to the Georgia Swarm in Atlanta.

Jeff Shattler had two goals and seven points in a 13-10 loss for the Rush to the Swarm. The loss drops Saskatchewan's record to 3-2 this season, they also fall into second place in the National Lacrosse League's West Division, a half-game behind the expansion San Diego Seals.

Saskatchewan outshot Georgia 56-46, they picked up 26 more loose balls (78-52) and won 20-of-27 face-offs, but still came out on the losing end.

Everything went Georgia's way to open the game as they scored five straight goals over the first 7:20 of the game. Mark Matthews picked up the Rush's lone goal in the first quarter as they trailed 6-1 after one.

Saskatchewan's defence settled in during the second quarter as the two sides traded single goals each with Shattler finding the back of the net for the Rush.

The third quarter was tight again with three goals for each side. Matthew Dinsdale scored twice, while Robert Church added the other Rush marker as they trailed 10-5 after three.

In the fourth quarter, the Rush fired out of the gates with goals from Matthews and Shattler in the opening 50 seconds to cut the Swarm's lead down to three.

Georgia answered with back-to-back goals from Jerome Thompson and Randy Staats, but Saskatchewan came back with three goals from Dinsdale, Matthews and Matt Hossack, which made it a two-goal game with 8:02 to play.

John Ranagan scored for the Swarm with 1:08 left in the fourth to help seal the win.

Rush goalie Evan Kirk was pulled after allowing five goals on the first 10 shots of the game, while Adam Shute made 28 saves the rest of the way.

Georgia was 1-for-1 on their power play, but Saskatchewan didn't receive a power play opportunity.

Next action for the Rush is on Friday when they travel to Toronto to face the Rock.
