From triathlons to beach bashes and movies under the stars, Saskatchewan’s provincial parks are offering up two weeks of summer fun with free programming and events across the province.

The latest lineup from Discover Sask Parks runs August 6 to 20 and features a mix of active adventures, cultural festivals, and outdoor cinema nights, all included with a valid park entry permit.

One of the first highlights is the return of the Tri-Loon-Athon at Makwa Lake Provincial Park on Aug. 9. Now in its second year, the race challenges participants to swim 300 metres off Stabler Point Beach, bike 10 kilometres along the shoreline, and finish with a 2.5-kilometre run through scenic park terrain. Spectators are invited to cheer on racers between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

That same day, Festival in the Forest takes over Meadow Lake Provincial Park from 1 to 8:30 p.m., transforming the Boreal Forest into a creative hub. Guests can explore hands-on art workshops, browse a vendor market, and enjoy an evening concert by Saskatchewan country artist Justin LaBrash.

Outdoor movie nights are back at select provincial parks through Sask Parks’ Summer Cinema series. Before the main feature, park interpreters will host interactive crafts and family activities.

Upcoming screenings include:

Looking ahead, Cabin Fever Art Festival returns to Moose Mountain Provincial Park on Aug. 23. Guests can wander through the park’s Artist Colony cabins, take part in art workshops, shop local vendors, and enjoy lakeside music performances.
