The upgrades to the sewer line running along Stadacona Street West are being upgraded after serious sewer gas problems recently.

Residents of Moose Jaw's West End will be happy to hear this.

Work is coming along nicely on the Stadacona Sewer Project. You may remember there was a serious problem last summer with sewer gas in the residential neighbourhood caused by too much sewage moving through the pipe.

City Engineer Ryan Johnson gives us an update.

"The construction is progressing. The contractor was working through the weekend and the contractor is expecting to maintain the schedule for the time being. What we are hoping for is to complete the sewer pipe work before Christmas and then the lift station is not expected to be commissioned until May or June of next year."

The project is designed to take the large amount of sewage produced by XL Beef out of the residential sewer line.
