Of the 39 cases located in the South-Central zone, 33 are in the sub-region 'South-Central 2', which is comprised of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area

Six more residents who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died, with one resident being in their 60s from the central-west zone, and 5 residents were in the 80 plus age group from Regina (2), Saskatoon (1), and the Southeast (2).

309 new cases were announced on Tuesday, along with 412 recoveries.

Of the new cases, 69 are in Saskatoon, 43 in Regina, 30 in the north-central zone, 29 in the northwest, 25 in the far northwest, 19 in the southeast, 19 in the central-east, 18 in the far northeast, 16 in the far north-central, 10 in the northeast, three in the central west, and three in the southwest. There were no new cases in the south-central zone, and 25 of the new cases are pending resident information.

4,156 cases are considered active, with 207 people in hospital. 176 are receiving inpatient care, and 31 are in intensive care.

The government of Saskatchewan also provided additional information, saying that their case reporting database is being updated to reconcile a significant backlog in the number of recoveries and that these will be reflected in the daily case counts over the coming days.

1,957 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were also administered in Saskatchewan on Monday, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 24,575.

Another shipment of 2,925 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be arriving in the province this week, which will be divided between the Regina, Fort Qu’Appelle, and North Battleford areas.
