The Moose Jaw Miller Express were in Okotoks yesterday to take on the Okotoks dawgs for the final game of the Western Canadian Baseball League championships.

Unfortunately, the Millers came up short losing the final game 4 to 1 and coming in 2nd place.

The Dawgs got a run right off the bat in the first inning but Moose Jaw’s left fielder Joe Osborne was quick to catch us up getting the Millers only run only run of the game in the second.

Then in the fourth, Okotoks took two runs and was able to take another one in the 5th, taking the lead and finishing out the game.

The Millers will soon be leaving their billet families to go back home but it's safe to say that Moose Jaw is proud of what they've accomplished.

Looking at girl's fastball the Moose Jaw U17A Ice had quite the come back game on yesterday against Ontario's LaSalle.

The ice were behind for most of the game until the 7th inning when they took 4 runs, giving the girls a 1 point lead to victory.

Also improving to 2-1 in their round-robin pool and moving closer to securing a spot in the playoffs.

Today the girls have a pair of games against Ontario's Whitby Eagles Aquanno and they host Equippe Quebec Rak.

Looking ahead to Football, The Saskatchewan Rough Riders are back in action at Mosaic Stadium tonight as they host the B.C. Lions at 8 pm.

In the World Juniors last night, Canada was victorious over Switzerland winning 6-3, taking Canada to the semifinal. They will be back on the ice tonight against the Czech Republic.

In national baseball action, the Blue Jays crushed the New York Yankees 9-2 yesterday with 13 hits over 7. But the Yankees have a chance to redeem themselves today just after 5 o'clock.
